The Miracle

ell it seemed to be time to write another blog. Unfortunately Erin and I don't really feel that we have much to write about right now. We have taken no pictures lately and really haven't done much outside of school and work. Erin is busy with School 3 days a week (she got straight A's last semester.) and work on the other 2. I work mostly graves, and go to class and to my internship with Juvenile Justice services during the day. So when we get home all we want to do is veg out in front of the TV. This is a very bad thing. I actually hate TV and get frustrated at myself for watching too much. So one day as we were wasting our lives away in front of the idiot box, a miracle happened. Our cable went out and we have been without tv for 2 weeks. Its amazing what we have been able to accomplish without the tv going. Erin and I both read a book, we went to an art museum and went and saw a really interesting arty movie. Our house has been cleaner, we've been cooking more and eating healthier. Its been great! So the moral of this story is that TV is a very evil thing and should be avoided at all costs.

I just want to let everyone know how amazing Erin is. She works so hard and lets me know daily that I am loved. This is a little movie that I made Erin for valentines day to let her know how amazing I think she is and how much I love her. I thought I would let you all see it as a public display of my love for her.

Since Christmas. . .

I thought it was about time to update this thing and let you all know how we are doing. Since we havn't posted since before Christmas I thought that would be a great place to start. Our first Christmas together was awesome. On Christmas eve we went to my parents house (This is Danny, by the way) and had a blast. It is the tradition at my house that we all get out instruments and jam on Christmas eve.

This is a video of one of our SICK jam sessions. Watch at the end,It's classic, the diamond flies out of Erin's ring, it's great! Don't worry we found it and everything was ok so now it just makes for a funny video. We spent the night at my parent's house and opened presents there.

Then we went back home and finished opening preasents at our place. After that we had a great time hanging out with Erin'r extended family. Overall I was quiet plaesed with our first christmas together.

In more recent news, We got Erin out and taught this Deleware girl why tons of snow and lots of bad weather is really a great thing. Last saturday we wnt with my family on a nice snowshoe hike. It was a lot of fun and I think Erin liked it too. It was one of the first nice saturdys we have had in a long time and the snow was so beautiful up in the mountains. The ony problem was the hundreds of snowmobiles blowing exhaust in our faces and ruining the peace and quiet. Regardless we had a blast.

holiday fun

what an amazing month we have had. we have totally embraced the holiday season. let me tell you what we have done. two weekends ago we had an awesome date. we went up to salt lake city to participate in the christmas festivities. we went to a session at the salt lake city temple. it was beautiful and very spiritual. it's amazing to think of all the many people that have been in that temple. after eating a nice dinner we walked around temple square to see the lights. man there were a lot. the beautiful lights on the reflecting pond. my favorite were the orange and red light combo. we then went to see the nutcracker at capital theater. it was beautiful. it was danny's first time seeing the nutcracker. it was tons of fun and danny sure knows how to put together an awesome date. the only bad part was that we forgot our camera!! iiii know. that weekend we also went out to dinner with our awesome aunt shelley and our fun cousins. i like them. it was fun to visit.

so i have finished with midterms and now am on christmas break. danny is finished with the semester!!! he finished with 2 A's and 1 B+ and still waiting for his last class's grade. it was a hard semester so i'm really proud of him. he graduates this april which is exciting.

this past weekend we also had a fun PACKED weekend. on friday we went up to the canyons ski/snowboard resort in park city. we had gone to the warren miller ski movie in october for 20 bucks and scored free passes to canyons. so we went snowboarding up there. we had a blast. we went with some friends of ours. it was my 3rd time snowboarding and, if i do say so myself, i rocked! danny didnt' have to wait for me that long. he was impressed. he did head out with his friends and tackelled the blacks. it will probably be our only time up to the canyons this season. i'll tell ya i'm still sore but it was definately well worth it. i'll crave it for another year until next year.

then saturday we went up to my extended family and made candy! we made tons of stuff. pecan brittle, peanut brittle, toffee, carmel, and dipped twizzlers, cinnimon santas, and swedish fish, and pretzels in chocolate. it was devine. my aunts are so amazing. i wanted to make some candy to hand out to family members and friends for christmas and hadn't ever made this candy before. they opened up there house, shared their chocolate and ingredients, and took time to explain to me how to make these goodies. i myself made a batch of toffee and brittles. it's something that danny has wanted and has commented since we have first been married. i'm excited that we can now do it on our own now in the future with our own family.

after making candy we then went out with our cute mentees, kirsten and kaleb. we took them caroling to some friends to drop off our goodies and then went to see some christmas lights. i think they had a blast because they kept on talking and talking. they are such cute kids. we went to the festival of lights in spanish fork along with salem pond where we meet santa and took a picture. i hope they have a good christmas.

now we are just waiting for christmas eve!!!! we can not wait. we'll update ya then.

let it snow!!

it snowed today

so we're really excited for christmas. it's our first ever together! in fact today we went shopping and pretty much we are completely done with our christmas presents for our families and for each other. after we got home we of course wrapped them and put them under our tree which we've had up since before thanksgiving. then we looked at each other and said...geez it's only december 1st. i'm pretty proud of ourselves. no more stressing.

our christmas tree is way cute. we took out all our christmas ornaments we've been collecting through out the years and realized that we dont have many at all. so we've been making our own. danny and i mentor a brother and sister named kirsten and kaleb and we had them over and we made dough and painted our own christmas orniments! there pretty cute i think. so today we painted some more to put on our tree. now our cute christmas tree got even cuter and has fun homemade ornaments on it! i really like doing these fun little activites. specially when it's danny and i. total bonding and totally fun. plus it beats watching tv for many hours apon hours. down below is a picture of dannys' star that he made. he's so good!

the begining

in the beginging...

so we decided to particapate in the bloggin world and join. we're doing this instead of homework. this is kind of fun.

this weekend was thanksgiving weekend. i was suppose to work 6am-6pm and danny was suppose to work 3pm-11pm. no fun but we both have to work at least one holiday this season so we decided to do it on the same day. well fortunatly i got off early at 12pm and ran home to see danny. i called danny around 10 or so to tell him the news. i called again to tell him i was living and he was MAKING A MINI THANKSGIVING LUNCH! oh yeah! he went to the store, 4 to be exact and only 2 were open, and got stuff to make stuffing and bought pies and some vegtable stock. i came home to find the kitchen in an uproar. my cute husband with his hair sticking up high ran out of the kitchen with a cute scruntched up face saying "erin i'm over my head. i need your help!!" he had started biscuits from stratch and stuffing from scratch and gravy from scratch! i was so so impressed. we quickly finished making the lunch and ate a great thanksgiving with vegitarian chicken patties instead of to-furky bc the health/natural food stores were closed. anyway it turned out being a great day. after danny went to work i went over to the engebretsen's and found out that my cute cousin joy is pregnant. how exciting for her. it was a nice to see and visit with family.

so the rest of the weekend we've been doing homework and being bums. it's been quite wonderful. everyone seems to be out of town this weekend from the ward bc we both got calls to teach in church. i'm teaching the 6 year olds primary and danny is teaching elder quorm. i think i got the better deal.
